I specialise in the skills you need to hold great in-person conversations at work, especially those tough ones.
During my career I’ve worked with thousands of managers and leaders across all three continents in many of the world’s leading organisations. That real-life experience has shown me one thing above all;
Great conversations aren’t down to luck.
Once you know the skills, even difficult topics can be constructive. That’s not only a big stress-reliever, it can also be a powerful boost to your entire career.
I’ve put twenty of the most important conversations you’ll ever need in my book Now You’re Talking! The manager’s complete handbook to leading great conversations at work – even the tough ones.
I also created the CEDAR ®steps, a framework to help you navigate feedback conversations confidently, and am expert adviser to ISO 30442 Performance Management now under development.
By way of background, I spent four years as Global Director for Learning and Development for KPMG, where I was responsible for the design and implementation of the core skills curriculum across 144 countries. I also served ten years in the warfare branch in the Royal Navy, as well as two years in a senior role in performance management with Cathay Pacific Airways based in Hong Kong.
My aim is straightforward; to help you to become more confident and skilled in holding performance discussions, whatever the issue you’re facing.
